Today your preschooler learned that God is with me always, so I can be brave. Our story focused on God being with Moses and the Israelites at the Red Sea (see Exodus 13:17-14:31). Our monthly verse has been “God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9, NLT. Ask your preschooler if they can teach YOU the motions we have been practicing for this verse. You might be surprised how it helps you to remember it too!
Preschool parent challenge: Take some time this week as you run errands and ask, 'Is God here with us?" at each stop. Be sure to keep repeating this month's bottom line, "God is always with me."
Elementary kids focused on what it means to think about good things (specifically, the Bible). Because we know that when we focus on good stuff, it help us to focus on God, helps us to use words that honor Him, and helps our actions to point others to Him. “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” Philippians 4:8, NIV
Elementary parent challenge: Reinforce our monthly theme of peace by encouraging your child to be a peacemaker. Ask them to think of at least two things they can do on a regular basis that will help them become a peacemaker rather than a peace breaker?
